Indore: A 62-year-old Indore physician has succumbed to the novel coronavirus.
It’s believed that he’s the first frontline worker in India to die of COVID-19.
Dr Shatrughan Panjwani had tested positive four days ago. According to a doctor attending to him, Dr Panjwani had been admitted to CLH Hospital first before being shifted to a private hospital where he breathed his last on Thursday.
According to Indore’s chief medical and health officer (CMHO), Dr Praveen Jadia, the victim was a general physician.
“It appears that he had come in contact with a coronavirus patient during treatment. We are trying to trace the source of infection,” he said.
