Cuttack: With Bali Jatra beginning November 4, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has written to BCCI expressing its inability to hold the proposed T20 match between India and New Zealand at Barabati Stadium here on the same date.
The annual festival is organised at a ground adjacent to the stadium.
The OCA has instead requested the BCCI to consider allotting an India-Sri Lanka match to the stadium on a different date, informed the association’s working committee chairman Dhiren Palei on Thursday.
The news of Barabati hosting a T20I match had brought much cheer to cricket fans in the state after Palie confirmed receiving official communication from BCCI in this regard on Monday.
