India Rankings 2023: 3 Institutes From Odisha Improve Spot In Top 100; Sharp Drop For IIT-Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Four educational institutions from Odisha have made it to the top 100 list of India Rankings 2023, which was released by Union Education Minister (MoS) Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh on Monday.

Bhubaneswar-based Siksha `O` Anusandhan (SOA) University Bhubaneswar rose to the 26th in the list in the overall category as compared to 30 in 2022, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University climbed to 29 from 34 and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela jumped two spots to 37 while Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar dropped to 91 from 65 a year ago.

Among universities, SOA bagged 15th position while KIIT and Utkal University have been ranked 16th and 93rd respectively. Both SOA and KIIT improved their ranking by one spot while the oldest university in Odisha saw a drop in its position from 88th rank in 2022.

Notably, SOA has been securing top rank among the universities of the state consecutively for eight years.

Odisha drew a blank in the College and Pharmacy categories.

NIT-Rourkela has been ranked 29th among Research Institutes followed by KIIT (44) and SOA (49). NIT-Rourkela also topped in Odisha among engineering colleges with all-India rank of 16 while SOA occupied 26th position followed by KIIT at 39, IIT-Bhubaneswar at 47 and CV Raman Global University at 100th position.

NIT-Rourkela is the only institute from the state to find place in Architecture category at 8th position and so also Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar, in Agriculture category at 22nd position.

In Management category, SOA, IIM-Sambalpur and KIIT have been ranked 57th, 58th and 59th respectively. International Management Institute also featured in the list at 67th position.

SOA and AIIMS-Bhubaneswar have been ranked 16th and 17th respectively in Medical category with KIIT at 26th position. SOA has also secured 9th rank in Dental followed by KIIT at 20th position.

In Law category, SOA topped in the state, ranking 8th among 30 colleges in India, followed by KIIT (12) and National Law University (30).
