Bhubaneswar: India entered the semi-finals of the FIH Series Finals Hockey Tournament by demolishing Uzbekistan 10-0 here on Monday.
This is the third straight victory for the Indian side after it thrashed Russia 10-0 in the opening clash of the tournament and defeated Poland 3-1 in the next match.
The star of the match was Akashdeep Singh, who slammed a hattrick by scoring goals in the 11th, 26th and 53rd minute of the match.
The top two teams of each pool directly qualify for the semi-finals as per the format of the tournament. The second and third-ranked sides will play in the cross-overs to enter the last four rounds.
India will play the winners of the cross-over match between Japan and Poland in Pool A in the semi-finals on Friday.
