Berhampur: Commandant, Army Air Defence College Lt Gen UV Talur expressed gratitude towards ex-servicemen for their contributions towards the security and integrity of the nation and assured them of the wholehearted and unstinted support from the serving fraternity.
Lt Gen U V Talur said this during a rally of the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) organised at Military Station Gopalpur near Berhampur on March 19. The rally was organised with an aim to resolutely stand by the Veer Naris Veer Matas and the ex-servicemen fraternity.
It was attended by more than 1000 retired Army personnel including war veterans, Veer Naris, specially abled ex-servicemen and their dependents from across the state. The rally is being held after a gap of two years due to the COVID pandemic.
To facilitate on-the-spot resolution of grievances of ex-servicemen, relevant functionaries from PAO OR /PCDA/ Records offices were present and a platform for registration of grievances and immediate redressal was provided.
Representatives of SBI, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank and SPARSH were present. A medical camp was established under the aegis of Military Hospital, Gopalpur in coordination with Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Cell, Gopalpur to provide necessary medical cover to those in need.
The ex-servicemen, led by Brig (Retd) Abhimanyu Rout, state president of Akhil Bharatiya Poorve Sainik Seva Parishad, expressed their gratitude to the Army officials for organising the event.
A book for ex-servicemen titled ‘Rishtey’, which covers the details of monetary and pension benefits along with various other facilities provided by state and Central governments, was unveiled during the ceremony. As part of the event, a felicitation ceremony was organised in which Veer Naris and ex-servicemen were felicitated with various gifts.
