Delhi: The Indian Railways has revamped and upgraded its e-ticketing website www.irctc.co.in and IRCTC Rail Connect Mobile Application, which are used for booking of online tickets.
The website and App, offering best-in-class features, has been launched by Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal on Thursday.
Terming it as a New Year gift to the passenger, Goyal said novel user-personalisation features linked to user login have been incorporated for the first time.
He called upon IRCTC to focus on customer needs and work towards further improving the website to ensure that it is second to none in the world as per the digital India mission and vision of PM.
Goyal said “The Railways is committed to serving the nation, and constantly working to augment its services to further improve the rail travel experience. This Upgraded e-ticketing platform for booking of online Railway tickets, will enhance passenger convenience.”
Some new features include:
Booking meals, retiring rooms and hotels integrated. The facilities can be directly availed along with tickets
Predictive entry suggestions using Artificial Intelligence to be given to passenger
Simpler checking of refund status at the user accounts page
Regular’ or ‘Favourite’ journeys can be booked easily by automatically entering relevant details
Train search and selection simplified by putting information on one page
Availability for all class displayed along with respective fares for all trains. Scroll page and choose to ‘Book’ the desired train and class
