Ahmedabad: Sports Odisha became the second team from the state to book a quarterfinal berth in the Indian Women’s League.
Sports Odisha held Misaka United FC goalless at TransStadia Stadium here on Friday to finish second in Group A with 13 points from 7 matches.
Odisha FC have already sealed a knockout berth from Group B, with a game in hand. The top four from each group qualify for the last-8 stage.
It was a disappointing afternoon for Bengaluru side Misaka, who needed victory to advance to the next stage.
Despite a fine performance from midfielder Nisilia Majaw, who was named Player of the Match, Misaka failed to break the Sports Odisha defence.
Misaska thus finished with 10 points.
Sports Odisha apart, Gokulam Karala, East Bengal and HOPS Football Club qualified for the quarterfinals.
