Inebriated Man Kills Nephew With Axe In Odisha’s Rayagada

Rayagada: A man in inebriated condition allegedly killed his nephew in Odisha’s Rayagada district late Friday night.

According to sources, S Budu and his nephew S Ramesh belonging to Harijan Basti of Sirijholi village under Gunupur police limits in the district had gone for drinking country liquor. After getting intoxicated, both were engaged in a quarrel.

In a fit of rage, Budu hit Ramesh with an axe. Ramesh started bleeding profusely and died after some time. On being informed, a team from Gunupur police station went to the village and arrested Budu. They also seized the axe used in the crime.

Additional SP of Rayagada Amiya Dhar said local ward member had lodged a complaint on the matter at the police station and a case has been registered. Further investigation is on.
