Bhubaneswar: The body of an inmate of a de-addiction centre was found hanging in Nandan Vihar area of Odisha capital on Monday.
The victim, a native of Rajkanika in Kendrapada district, was admitted to the Koshish drug de-addiction centre last month.
According to sources, the body of the youth, reportedly hanging in the bathroom, was spotted by inmates at the de-addiction centre located at Nandan Vihar under Infocity police limits. He was rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared him received dead.
On being informed, a team of police personnel along with forensic experts visited the site. The body was recovered and sent for postmortem. Efforts are on to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
“The CCTV footage of the centre revealed that the youth entered the bathroom and did not come out. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation is on,” said an officer of Infocity police station.
