Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience heavy rain till August 15, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.
Yellow warning has been issued for some places in North Odisha on August 9, 10, 13, 14 and 15.
August 9
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) may occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sambalpur and Deogarh.
The weather agency has also issue a nowcast warning for light to moderate rain/thundershower with lightning in some parts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak and Cuttack till 4 pm.
Bhubaneswar may also experience cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
August 10
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.
August 13
Heavy rainfall may resume at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh.
August 14
Heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places in some districts of North Odisha
August 15
Heavy rainfall may continue at one or two places in some districts of North Odisha
According to IMD’s extended weather outlook, fairly widespread to scattered rain/thundershower with isolated heavy rain may occur in Odisha from August 9-22. The overall rainfall activity is likely remain above normal to normal during this period.
