International Chocolate Day: From Ketchup to Fish Flavours, Here’s A Few Bizarre Picks

Bhubaneswar: It’s International Chocolate Day today. The day coincides with the birthday of Milton S. Hershey, the founder of a prominent chocolate company. This day is celebrated to honour Milton Hershey’s birthday, and his contributions to the mass production and popularisation of chocolates in the United States and across the world. Thanks to Milton, chocolates became affordable to common people. And, undoubtedly chocolates are one of the most sought-after sweet items in the world. But, not all chocolates are just sweet. There are some weird-flavoured chocolates that will leave you shocked! On International Chocolate Day, here’s some of the most bizzare chocolates in world:

1) Ketchup chocolate: A weird trend had gone viral earlier this year in which people were found eating ketchup-smothered chocolate bars. This gave birth to the ketchup chocolate when two big companies collaborated to come up with ketchup chocolate bars.

2) The chewing gum twist: In Japan, another popular company has introduced a crunchy chocolate that turns chewy like a gum. The crunch of a rice-puff-filled chocolate, also has the texture of gum.

3) Sea food chocolate: In Japan, there’s yet another twist. m tuna to shrimp, that are available in the market. Flavoured with seafood like Tuna fist and shrimp, these come with a crispy wafer.

4) Lemon-infused: An Austrian chocolate manufacturer makes a vegan olive and zitrone (lemon) filled dark chocolate.

5) Beans and pizza flavours: In Japan, one also gets red beans chocolates. Paste of red beans is put in between chocolate bars. To one’s surprise, there’s also chocolate that tastes like pizza.
