Baripada: Voicing concern over reports about deterioration in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s health, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said if BJP forms government in Odisha it will order a probe to ascertain if there is a conspiracy behind his ill health.

“’Is there a Conspiracy behind Naveen Babu’s deteriorating health? Is the lobby running Odisha in the name of Naveen Babu responsible for the poor health condition of the CM? People of Odisha have every right to know the truth,” Modi said addressing a BJP rally at Chhau ground of Baripada in Mayurbhanj.

Stating that people are concerned about the health of the CM, he said everyone wants to know how his health deteriorated so much in the last one year. Those close to the CM say that he is not able to do anything on his own, he said.

“Some people even suspect that there is a conspiracy behind the poor health condition of Naveen Babu. People of Odisha have the right to know if there is any conspiracy behind his deteriorating health,” the Prime Minister said.

Therefore, a special committee will be constituted to investigate the reason behind the sudden deterioration of the health of the Chief Minister if BJP is voted to power in Odisha,” Modi said, adding, “the mystery must be unravelled.”

Coming down heavily on the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government, the Prime Minister accused it of having looted and betrayed the people who gave it the opportunity to govern for 25 years.

Asserting that there should be no sympathy for those who have betrayed people, Modi said if BJD comes to power again, it will snatch away the land of tribals as it looted the mineral resources in the state. “Those who have looted the people of Odisha will have to pay for it,” he said.

Claiming that people of Odisha have decided to put a full stop to the 25-year rule of BJD government, Modi said people now want an Odia Chief Minister and ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’.

“History is going to be created after 25 years. Whole Odisha is saying that an Odia will be the Chief Minister of the state. People of the state want Modi Ki Guarantee,” he said.

Stressing that India will become the third largest economy in five years, he said states like Odisha will immensely benefit from this.

Noting that India was 11th largest economy in 2014, the PM said the country is the 5th largest economy now and people have witnessed the level of development in the last 10 years that they hadn’t seen in decades.

The next five years will witness the country emerging strongly as an Aatmanirbhar and self-reliant nation, he said, adding that the next five years will be of complete transformation of Bharat’s infrastructure.
