New Delhi: Israeli offensive in the Middle-East added another font on Sunday when its Air Force launched strikes targeting Houthi militants in Yemen.

Israeli airstrikes came came in response to several missiles fired by Houthi militants in the recent few days, according to Al Arabiya News.

The Israeli military said many aircraft, including fighter jets, took part in an attack on power plants and a sea port. “Over the past year, the Houthis have been operating under the direction and funding of Iran, and in cooperation with Iraqi militias in order to attack the State of Israel, undermine regional stability, and disrupt global freedom of navigation,” the Israeli military statement said.

The Houthi-run health ministry said four people were killed and 29 were injured in the airstrikes at Ras Issa and Hodeidah ports. The strikes also caused a power outage in Hodeidah port city.

Yemen’s Houthi militants had been repeatedly fired missiles and drones at Israel since the Gaza war began with a Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. In their latest attack, the Houthis launched a ballistic missile on Saturday targeting Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv. Israel said it intercepted the missile along with another fired on Friday, according to reports.

Earlier, the Houthi militia mourned Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasarallah following his death in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
