ITI Student Dies After Falling From Hostel Roof In Rourkela

Rourkela: A student of a private Industrial Training Institute (ITI) reportedly died after falling from the roof of hostel in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

As per reports, the deceased was identified as Atulyan Jojo of Hatibari under Biramitrapur police station in the district. He was a first year student of the ITI under Jhirpani police limits.

On Saturday night, he had gone to his hostel room after having dinner. Around 2-3 am on Sunday, he left the bed and went to the roof, his roommates said.

In the morning, Jojo was found dead in a pool of blood on the ground close to the hostel.

On being informed, a police team from Jhirpani went to the hostel and sent the body for post-mortem. They found Jojo’s mobile phone and headphone on the roof and seized those. The family of the deceased student has been informed.

While the cause of death has not been ascertained, the police have started investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led the student to go to the hostel roof in the wee hours.
