Mumbai: Celebrated Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu’s son, Jaan Kumar Sanu raked a storm with his alleged anti-Marathi remark on the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 14’.
Following threats by MNS leader Ameya Khopkar over his anti-Marathi remark, Jaan apologised for his comment on the show.
Colors channel, which airs Bigg Boss 14, shared the video of Jaan’s apology on their official Instagram handle.
“Namaste, mera naam Jaan Kumar Sanu hai. Maine kuch dino pehle, anjaane mein hi sahi, magar maine ek galti ki, jisse Marathi logon ko, aur unke sentiments ko thes pahunchi hai. Main iss baat ke liye sincerely sorry kehna chahunga. Mera bilkul bhi intention nahi tha ke main Marathi logon ko thes ya chot pahunchaun. Agar mere intentions galat aaye hain saamne se, toh main uske liye tahe dil se maafi maangna chahunga. Bigg Boss I am really sorry ke maine aapko sharminda kiya hai, aur main aage se yeh baat bilkul repeat nahi karunga,” Jaan is heard saying in the video.
Besides this, Colors has also issued an apology letter to the Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray. The channel has also assured the CM that Jaan’s comments will be removed from the future telecasts of the show.
“We hereby apologise if we have inadvertently hurt the feelings of the people of Maharashtra due to the broadcast of the same comment in relation to Marathi language,” apologised the broadcaster.
However, MNS leader Khopkar is not happy with Jaan’s apology video and said that the latter will have to pay the price for his anti-Marathi remark.
“We will ensure that Jaan does not get work in Mumbai. Anyone who hates Marathi language should get out of Maharashtra,” said Khopkar.
In a recent episode of ‘Bigg Boss 14’, Jaan asked his fellow contestant Nikki Tamboli to avoid speaking to him in Marathi as it irritates him.
