Bhubaneswar: Senior artist Jagadish Chandra Kanungo and renowned ghumura artist Jayant Kumar Behera have been honoured with this year’s Ila-Banshidhar Panda Kala Samman 2021.
The annual award, given by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT) for excellence and lifetime achievements in Art and Music, carries citations and cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh each.
Renowned narrator Paramita Satpathy will receive the Sarala Puraskar 2021 award for her novel ‘Abhipret Kaal’.
These eminent personalities will be honoured at the Sarala Puraskar awards ceremony in October, the Trust informed.
The annual Sarala Puraskar, instituted by eminent Odia industrialist Late Dr Bansidhar Panda and Late Ila Panda in 1980, has thereafter been continuously awarded by IMPaCT, the charitable wing of IMFA Ltd. which is the leading fully integrated producer of Ferro Alloys in India.
