Jagatsinghpur: The district administration is yet to trace the travel history of the four migrant labourers from Surat who tested positive for coronavirus.
Jagatsinghpur collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra said that the four labourers of Naugan block had remained in a government quarantine centre at Chauliaganj in Cuttack after their return from Surat on April 4.
On getting information from the Cuttack collector, Mohapatra made arrangement to bring them to the district headquarters hospital in Jagatsinghpur. Later, they were sent to the government quarantine centre at Naugan. Their blood and swab samples tested positive for COVID-19.
Stating that three out of the four patients belong to the same family, Mahapatra said it has not been ascertained how the labourers managed to return to Odisha.
He said the district administration has sealed the quarantine centre at Nuagan and admitted the four patients in the Ashwini COVID Hospital in Cuttack.
Of 132 migrant workers from Surat, 94 have tested negative while the report of the remaining 34 is awaited, the collector also said. With Jagatsinghpur reporting first corona positive cases, the virus has spread to 17 out of 30 districts in Odisha.
