Gajapati: The Jirang Buddhist monastery will remain closed for visitors for 10 days from February 22.
A special Maha Sadhana puja will be performed at the Buddhist temple, situated at Jirang near Chandragiri in Gajapati district.
“For the Maha Sadhana puja, visitors won’t be allowed to enter the temple. We will perform puja to maintain peace among people in the state as well as in the country. Preparations are underway. The puja will be held for 24 hours. We request devotees not to visit the temple during next 10 days,” the temple’s chief priest informed.
The famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery attracts a huge number of tourists from across the country, especially during winter months.
