Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti termed the cross-border firing in Jammu region as unfortunate and batted for a Directors-General of Military Operations (DGMO) level talk between India and Pakistan to stop the bloodshed on Sunday.
“It is unfortunate that this has happened even after DGMOs held dialogue. People on both sides of the border are dying. The DGMOs should hold dialogue again. This bloodshed must be brought to an end,” she said.
The remark comes after two BSF jawans were martyred and several civilians injured.
Last week, the DGMOs of India and Pakistan had agreed to ‘fully implement’ the ceasefire pact of 2003 in ‘letter and spirit.’
