Johnny Depp celebrated his defamation case win against his ex-wife Amber Heard by dining out with his friends at the Indian restaurant ‘Varanasi’ in Birmingham on Sunday. He shelled out more than $62,000 (Rs 48.1 lakh) on a special celebratory curry dinner, New York Post said in a report.
The 58-year-old actor indulged in a feast of authentic Indian cuisine, cocktails and rosé Champagne at the restaurant, which was closed so that he and his musician friend and collaborator Jeff Beck, 77, and 20 other people could eat in private. They left around midnight, the report added.
According to Daily Mail , Depp arrived at the trendy eatery by 7 pm.
“The most talked about person on the planet right now joined us for dinner last night!” the restaurant wrote on Instagram, while sharing pictures.
Mohammed Hussain, operations director of Varanasi, told the outlet that the chefs prepared a feast for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star that included delicacies such as shish kebabs, chicken tikka, paneer tikka masala, lamb karahi and tandoori king prawns.
The actor had won more than $10 million in damages, achieving a near-total victory in a defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard after a six-week trial featuring graphic testimony about their soured relationship.
