Bhubaneswar: JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) has bagged Odisha Excellence Award, 2018, for its sustainable social development initiatives in the state.
Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal presented the award to the foundation General Secretary Prashant Kumar Hota in the presence of noted freedom fighter Gour Hari Das and other dignitaries on Monday.
With an objective to improve quality of lives of people, the JSPL Foundation, under the guidance of its Co-Chairperson Shallu Jindal, has been undertaking various innovative social development programmes in the field of health, education, skill building, women empowerment, art and culture, sports, infrastructure, natural resource management and others areas.
The foundation has impacted more than 15 lakh lives through various interventions, mostly in project mode.
Congratulating the team, JSPL Foundation’s Co-Chairperson Shallu Jindal said, “Some of the programmes undertaken by JSPL Foundation like Kishori Express and Watershed Development have been made significant positive impact on lives of people. We are thankful to people of Odisha for their active support and participation in all our initiatives.”
The Foundation is engaged in sustainable social development projects across Angul, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and other parts of Odisha, besides Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
On account of the high impact development programmes, the foundation was recently conferred with the CSR Impact Award from NGOBOX in New Delhi and the CSR Community Initiatives Award from Odisha CSR Forum.
