Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Sena on Thursday announced youth leader Mahendra Patnaik as its candidate for the by-election to Jharsuguda Assembly constituency in Odishya.
Making the announcement at a press meet, Kalinga Sena chief Hemant Rath said Mahendra is a local youth leader of Jharsuguda who can put up a good fight in the bypoll scheduled to be held on May 10. “Our candidate is capable of working for the development of the area and welfare of its people with his dynamism,” he said.
Being a regional party, Kalinga Sena will sincerely work for the development of Jharsuguda and its people, particularly youths, Rath said, adding that a large number of youngsters are getting attracted to the outfit because of its dynamism.
Claiming that the local youths of Jharsuguda are facing severe unemployment, both Rath and Mahendra said that steps will be taken to provide jobs to the local people.
The Sena leaders alleged that the elected representatives have been shifting to Bhubaneswar and neglecting their areas. Therefore, the sena will create awareness among the people against the politics of dynasty, they said.
