Keep dreams of Mahatma alive: Erik

Bhubaneswar: United Nations (UN) Under Secretary General Erik Solheim visited Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and KIIT University on Friday.
Addressing 25,000 students of KISS, Erik said, “This is the only institution in world where 25,000 students stay on one campus. Dr. Achyuta samanta, who made these two great institutions, is a hero for us.”
He said the world is inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. “The Mahatma had four dreams. He dreamed for a poverty-free world. We need to fight for a poverty-free world by 2030. Mahatma Gandhi believed in nature. We have to protect our nature. He always said cleanliness is godliness. We should keep our India Clean. We should keep his dreams alive,” he said.

Advising the students, Erik said; “You are the future of the world. You can make great your parents, family, society, country and the world.”
Among others, Satya S. Tripathy, Senior Advisor on UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Juris Dierckx, CEO, BNP Paribas India, Ratna Dharashree, CEO, Micro Finance Institutions Network of India were also present.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KISS and KIIT gave welcome address while R. N. Dash, Secretary, KISS and KIIT, proposed the vote of thanks.
