New Delhi: The Delhi Government rejected the Delhi Police’s suggestion to convert Bawana Stadium into a prison in anticipation of Tuesday’s farmers’ march towards the national capital.
Recognising the farmers’ demands, Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gehlot stated that it would be unjust to arrest them for exercising their right to protest. “It is the constitutional right of every citizen to make a peaceful protest. It is therefore incorrect to arrest the farmers,” he was quoted as saying by The Mint.
The ‘Dilli Chalo’ march of farmers has commenced in the national capital, with farmers beginning their march towards the Shambu border. Meanwhile, Delhi-NRC is grappling with traffic disruptions caused by protests and barricades.
