Bhubaneswar: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has supported the proposal by his Odisha counterpart, Naveen Patnaik’s, on the Centre’s COVID vaccine procurement and disbursement.
Vijayan said he endorsed Naveen’s proposal that the Centre should procure the vaccines and the individual states should be allowed to run the vaccination programme independently.
“I thank you for the prompt and thoughtful response to my letter dated 29.5.2021. I am grateful for the efforts taken by your good self. We are in complete agreement that the Centre should procure preventive vaccine against COVID and the administration of vaccination can be left to be managed effectively by the States,” Vijayan wrote to the Odisha CM.
Earlier on June 2, Naveen had written to his counterparts to seek their cooperation to stand united in the nation’s fight against COVID-19 and focus on vaccination to save precious lives.
