Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed at Raghunath Nagar in Dumuduma here on Monday after four police officers, including Khandagiri police station inspector-in-charge (IIC) Himanshu Swain, were injured after being attacked by locals.
The IIC has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here for treatment.
According to available information, two motorcycle-borne miscreants had hurled bombs at two to three shops following a group clash. Two motorcycles and a hotel were damaged in the incident.
When a police team went to the spot after being informed about the incident, a group of angry locals pelted the cops with stones and ransacked a PCR van.
The incident was reportedly the fallout of a group clash between the locals of Raghunath Nagar and Sarakantara that took place two days ago.
