Kia’s luxury MPV – Carnival was launched on the first day of Auto Expo 2020 on Wednesday. The Innova-rivaling MPV comes in 7,8 and 9 seat configurations.

Premium (7-seater): Rs 24.95 lakh
Premium (8-seater): Rs 25.15 lakh
Prestige (7-seater): Rs 28.95 lakh
Prestige (9-seater): Rs 29.95 lakh
Limousine (7-seater): Rs 33.95 lakh
In comparison, Toyota Innova Crysta diesel-automatic is priced at Rs 18.22 – 23.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Carnival, however, is bigger, more luxurious, and more powerful than the king of the MPV market in India.
The Carnival has interesting seating options. The 9-seater variant has four rows of seats with 2+2+2+3 layout, that is, captain seats in the 2nd and 3rd rows. The 7-seater comes with a 2+2+3 arrangement, and the 8-seater comes with 2+3+3 design.
Safety-wise the Carnival gets dual airbags, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child-seat mounts, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, front parking sensors and a rear camera.
In terms of features, Kia has loaded the Carnival with power-sliding doors, three-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, powered wing mirrors, powered tailgate, a dual-pane sunroof, Nappa leather seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, UVO connected car tech, 10.1-inch dual rear-seat entertainment screens, an air purifier and a powered and ventilated driver’s seat.
The Kia Carnival is powered by a BS6-compliant, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder 200hp diesel engine mated to a 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, ARAI-rated fuel efficiency is 13.9kpl.
Kia has gathered 3,500 bookings already and 70 per cent of the bookings are for the top-spec Carnival Limousine variant.
