Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Group of Institutions handed over special assistance package to the families of COVID-deceased employees of KIIT.
Founder, KIIT & KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta handed over cheques of Rs 5 lakh each and job appointment letters to the families of COVID-deceased employees at a special programme on Monday.
This is part of various welfare initiatives taken by KIIT and KISS for its employees. When COVID struck the world, India and Odisha too were badly impacted. Lakhs of people affected by COVID lost their lives.
In 2020, Achyuta Samanta had then announced that the family of each COVID-deceased staff will get financial aid of Rs 5 lakh along with a job for one of the family members in KIIT and KISS as per his/her educational qualification. Their children will get free education in KIIT-DU according to their eligibility.
The Monday’s function was attended by Vice chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University, Prof. Hrusikesh Mohanty; Pro VC, Prof. Sasmita Samanta; Registrar Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty and other senior officials of KIIT Group of Institutions.
