Boudh: An English medium Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) school was inaugurated here and the foundation stone laid for a state-of-the-art 100-bed hospital at Lunibahal in Boudh district on Monday.
The initiatives of Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta are aimed to enhance educational and healthcare services in Boudh district.
Pradeep Kumar Amat, Odisha’s minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, was the chief guest while DSP Raj Prasad was guest of honour at the programme. Kantamal MLA and District Planning Committee Chairman Mahidhar Rana, District Council President Prabhasini Das, Boudh District Collector J Sonal were also present.
KIIT and KISS founder Samanta said KISS-Boudh school – to be managed by KISS Bhubaneswar — has been established to provide quality education to students from BPL families in the district. Education in English medium (CBSE) will be provided to them free of cost.
Enrolment and classes will start in in the current academic year.
The fully air-conditioned 100-bed modern hospital will be constructed in Lunibahal at a cost of Rs 100 crore. It will be managed by KIMS Bhubaneswar.
Samanta informed that 100 young women of Boudh district will get employment opportunity in KISS-Boudha school, and 150 others will get jobs in the new hospital.
