Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) completed the quarterfinal line-up of the MCL Cup 29th Bhubaneswar Inter-School Football Tournament, pulverizing Govt High School, IRC Village, 5-0 in the last league match at Unit-VI Boys’ High School Ground here on Thursday.
KISS scored all the five goals in the first half, virtually toying with their opponents. Dolaram Dharua started the goal deluge in the eighth minute and Sushant Tudu followed it with back-to-back goals in the ninth and 14th minutes. Sunil Murmu made it 4-0 in the 15th minute and Kunaram Soren rounded off the tally in the 25th minute.
After enjoying a goal feast, KISS boys did not show any hunger to score and chose to use the second half to give practice to their defence department. Kunaram Soren was adjudged the player of the match and he received the prize from government weightlifting coach Padmini Mohanty.
Today’s matches were conducted by match commissioner Maheswar Singh along with referees Saroj Moharana, Rajendra Barik, Asirbad Kanungo and Amit Nayak. After a gap of two days, the tournament will resume with the first two quarterfinal games on August 28, followed by the other two next day.
