Bhubaneswar: In an impressive debut season, Konark Suryas Odisha (KSO) has made it to the finals of the Legends League Cricket 2024.

Set to face the formidable Southern Superstars at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on October 16 (Wednesday), KSO’s journey has been nothing short of thrilling.

The season kicked off on a high note for KSO, securing a win against the Manipal Tigers. However, their momentum was briefly stalled by two consecutive matches that were washed out due to rain. Their first significant challenge came when they were defeated by the Southern Superstars by 8 wickets, a loss that could have dampened spirits but didn’t deter their resolve.

KSO bounced back with a nail-biting victory against India Capitals, winning by just 5 runs. But the rollercoaster ride continued as they fell to Toyam Hyderabad by 4 wickets. Facing a must-win scenario against the Gujarat Greats, KSO showcased their resilience and skill, triumphing by 7 wickets to secure a playoff spot, finishing second on the points table.

In the first qualifier, KSO once again met the Southern Superstars, but despite a valiant effort, they lost by 7 wickets. This setback meant they had to fight for another chance, which they found in the second qualifier. In a heart-stopping match against Toyam Hyderabad, KSO emerged victorious by a mere 1 run, sealing their place in the final.

As they prepare for the championship clash, the Konark Suryas Odisha team is poised to put their best foot forward, hoping to clinch the title in their inaugural season. Fans are eagerly anticipating what promises to be an exciting showdown!
