Berhampur: In another fake certificate case in Odisha, a contractual junior teacher has been suspended from service in Ganjam district.
As per reports, Mandakini Nahak was appointed as contractual junior teacher in NB Vidyapitha at Kankorada under Sanakhemundi block of the district in 2012.
After Mandakini passed Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test, she applied for regularisation of her job to the authorities. Acting on her application, the certificates produced by her at the time of joining the service were checked by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
During verification process of the certificates, the CHSE officials found that though Mandakini has failed in Plus II examination, she had produced certificates and marksheets to show that she had cleared it. On further checking, the officials confirmed that her Plus II certificate and marksheet were fake.
Following this, Ganjam district collector suspended Mandakini from service and a complaint was filed at Patapura police station. Meanwhile, Mandakini was not going to the school and has been absconding, the sources said.
It may be noted that three school teachers had been found to have furnished fake certificates to get appointment in Odisha’s Balangir district last month. Following the detection of an organised fake certificate racket 6 months back, the authorities are undertaking thorough scrutiny of the certificates submitted by teachers and others.
