Paralakhemundi: With heavy rain triggered by a depression battering Odisha’s Gajapati, the district administration on Saturday cancelled leave of all employees on July 22.
According to sources, the administration decided to cancel leave of all employees in view of incessant rain in different parts of the district under the impact of depression.
The administration was reported to have identified at least 129 locations which are prone to landslide. The district administration has directed the officials in different blocks to keep a watch on the situation and remain alert.
Notably, Paralakhemundi recorded 35.6 mm rainfall on Friday as the district was lashed by downpour.
The authorities are keeping a close watch on the water level of Vansadhara and Mahendratanaya rivers. Necessary steps are being taken to deal with any flood-like situation and water-logging in different parts of the district.
