New Delhi: With fears of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine not abating, India has once again advised its nationals — especially students and those whose stay is not essential — to leave Ukraine.

The advisory issued by Indian embassy in Kyiv stated that Indian nationals should take commercial or charter flights for an “orderly and timely departure”.

It was India’s second such advisory since February 15.

“In view of the continued high levels of tensions and uncertainties with respect to the situation in Ukraine, all Indian nationals whose stay is not deemed essential and all Indian students are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily. Available commercial flights and charter flights may be availed for travel, for orderly and timely departure,” the advisory stated.

Indian students have been advised to contact their student contractors for information on charter flights and also check updates on Indian embassy’s website, Facebook page and Twitter account.

It was announced on Friday that Air India will operate three Kyiv-Delhi flights on February 22, 24 and 26 to meet the increasing demand.

The US and UK are of the view that thousands of Russian troops on the Ukraine border are likely to invade at any time.
