New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to switch off lights at their homes for nine minutes at 9 pm on Sunday and light a candle or diya or flash a torch or their mobile flashlight at their doors or on the balcony in an united show of strength against coronavirus,.
“We have to dispel the darkness spread by coronavirus and give hope to the poor who are the most impacted by the lockdown,” the PM said in a video message on Friday morning.
Stating that the people and authorities have worked together to implement the lockdown, Modi said that other countries have been inspired by the applause the country offered to its frontline warriors during the Janata Curfew on March 22 .
The concern and solidarity by the people show that India can fight coronavirus together, he added.
