Berhampur: Villagers of Narayanpur on Tuesday gheraoed the Sadar police station in Odisha’s Berhampur demanding the arrest of a driver allegedly involved in an accident thar took place on Berhampur-Digapahandi road on September 10.
According to sources, one Kalia Bisoi (38) was hit by a speeding car while he was standing on the Narayanpur main road. He sustained critical injuries on his head.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital and is undergoing treatment. Police have seized the car but no arrests have been made yet.
Irate locals staged a protest in front of the police station and gheraoed it demanding the culprit’s arrest.
