Bhubaneswar: In line with the central guidelines, the Odisha government on Saturday allowed all shops to reopen with certain riders.
Shops registered under the Odisha Shops & Commercial Establishments Act, 1956, including shops in residential complexes and market complexes, are allowed to open in urban areas.
However, shops in multi-brand and single-brand malls, and those located outside the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities will not be allowed to open, a notification from the Revenue & Disaster Management Department said.
All shops will have to function with 50 per cent staff and wearing of masks is mandatory. Social distancing rules are also to be followed strictly.
Municipal Commissioners and Collectors are expected to notify the detailed list of the types of shops to open and their timings within their respective jurisdictions.
The Union Home Ministry had given the green signal to reopen shops on Friday night.
