Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday ordered the extension of all interim orders passed by a single bench of acting Chief Justice Sanju Panda as well as a division bench till April 15 in the wake of the countrywide lockdown to combat the spread of coronovirus.
The division bench of Justices Panda and KR Mohapatra issued the order after hearing urgent matters through video conferencing.
The bench also ordered a stay on all e-auctions and auctions that were scheduled to be held in the meantime as well as the e-auction sale notices issued the banks and financial institutions till April 15.
Earlier on March 18, an HC division bench of Justices CR Dash and SK Panigrahi had directed that no demolition or eviction under any law by any authority shall be undertaken till April 15 to avoid large congregation.
The bench had, however, exempted from the purview of such shifting, demolition and eviction concerning due implementation of any order of the court and in due implementation of any urgent government policy for development work.
Besides, two notifications by the HC Registry had said that the functioning of the court and its offices as well as that of subordinate courts and their offices shall remain suspended till April 15. The Registry had made the provision of mentioning of extremely urgent matters before the Deputy Registrar (Judicial) through email between 11 AM and 12 noon during this period.
Similarly, matters relating to production, remand and urgent bail matters shall be taken up by the subordinate courts through video conferencing wherever possible and at the court or at the residential office of the concerned presiding officer where video conferencing is not possible.
The notifications in the above regard available in the High Court’s website www.orissahighcourt.nic.in may be referred to for details.
