Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for two districts of Odisha till 5.10 pm on Friday.
Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at some places in Khurda and Cuttack districts within 3 hours. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Similar warning has also been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Jajpur districts till 4.30 pm.
The weather agency has also forecast light to moderate rain/thundershower at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal till 8.30 am on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area has formed over North Bay of Bengal & adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh & West Bengal. The system, however, is unlikely to have any impact on Odisha.
