Berhampur: Amid spiralling corona positive cases, the Ganjam administration on Wednesday directed all trading and business establishments to maintain a contact diary for customers.
District collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that the shop owners have been directed to keep a record of the address and phone number of each customer, failing which the administration will seal the shops and collect a fine of Rs 1000 from them.
They have been asked to wear mask and gloves and ensure proper implementation of social distancing norms, he said.
“Besides, the shop owners have been directed not to provide any essential commodity to any customer if he/she has not put on a mask,” he added.
The Keonjhar district administration had passed a similar order on Tuesday, directing merchants/shop-keepers/ businessmen to keep date-wise information of customers visiting their premises in a register for verification by enforcement officers as and when required.
