Man Beats Minor Son To Death For Securing Poor Marks In Exams In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A man allegedly beat his minor son to death for securing poor marks in examination in Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, the man, identified as Santosh Kumar Parida, stays with his family including 15-year-old son Swayanshu Parida in Unit III of the city. The mother-in-law of Santosh has also been living with the family since long.

Swayanshu, a student of Class VIII, was found dead in his house on Sunday. His father filed a report at Kharvel Nagar police station stating that his son committed suicide for not faring well in the examination.

But Swayanshu’s grandmother told the police that Santosh had beaten up his son mercilessly for poor score in the examination on Saturday night. Though she tried to stop Santosh, the latter did not heed her. The beating led to the death of Swayanshu, she added.

The police have registered a case and started investigation. They have also recorded the statements of Swayanshu’s grandmother.
