Balasore: Two days after his wedding, a man reportedly drowned in a pond at Khadipahi village in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Ajay Kumar Bhanj. He tied the knot with Chandni Jena of Gudapahi village at a temple on March 1 and the reception was scheduled to be held later this evening.
According to sources, Ajay went to a nearby pond for a bath this morning, slipped and fell into the water. Villagers later spotted him floating in the pond. They rushed him to Balasore district headquarters hospital, where doctor declared him dead.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for postmortem.
