Bhubaneswar: A man was bitten by a snake which was hiding in his shoe at Chakeisiani area of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The man, Sunil Panda rushed to Capital Hospital, while his neighbours informed the local Snake Helpline’s general secretary Subhendu Mallik.
A volunteer of Snake Helpline rushed to the spot and rescued the 1-ft-long juvenile Monocled cobra from the spot.
The snake bit Panda’s right hand the moment he picked up his shoe, sources said.
Panda was administered 10 vials of Anti Snake Venom (ASV) as the initial dose of treatment at Capital Hospital, the sources added.
