Balangir: A man was critically injured after being allegedly attacked by his wife following a fight over mobile phone at a village in Odisha’s Balangir district.
The incident took place at Keserakela village under Puintala area of the district on Sunday.
Sources said the injured man, identified as Ganeswar Suna, has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital at Balangir. His condition was stated to be critical.
As per information, Suna’s wife Iswari Kmar asked him for his mobile, but he refused saying that its data pack was exhausted.
Suna went to sleep after both had a verbal duel over the issue. An infuriated Iswari allegedly attacked Suna with a sharp vegetable cutter (paniki) when he was asleep and left the house along with her four-year-old daughter.
Iswari, who hailed from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, had married Suna around six years ago.
Suna, who had sustained grievous injuries, was rescued by villagers who admitted him to hospital.
