Kendarapada: A 42-year-old man jumped into Luna river, allegedly to end his life, in Kendrapada district of Odisha on Sunday.
The man has been identified as Chinmaya Nayak of Amrutabani village under Kendrapara Sadar police limits. He had got married one and a half year back.
Chinmaya left home saying he was going to nearby the market but did not return. He parked his bicycle on the bridge at Karilopatna and jumped into the river barefooted, said sources.
Fire service personnel have launched rescue operation in Luna river with the support of local people. Till filing of this report, the Chinmaya was yet to be traced.
