Bhawanipatna: A man was allegedly killed by his nephew with a sharp weapon at a village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Sunday.
The incident took place at Sikreguda village under the jurisdiction of Sradar police station in the district. The deceased was identified as Jala Nayak
As per villagers, the families of Jala and his younger brother were entangled in a dispute over practising of black magic and a police case was also pending in this connection.
The incident happened when Jala was proceeding to the paddy field as his younger brother’s son Sahadev attacked him with a sharp weapon.
While the body was sent for postmortem by the police, Sahadev as well as his father and brother have been detained in connection with the incident. Investigation is in progress.
