Man Kills Neighbour Over Land Dispute in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Rourkela: A land dispute turned fatal for a man in Mahulpada area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district when his neighbour allegedly killed him over the issue.

The deceased identified as Chaitu Nayak and the accused as Laka Nayak, are residents of Haatisal village in Phuljhar panchayat under Mahulpada police limits.

According to sources, Chaitu and Laka were locked in a dispute over a piece of land for a long time. The two got into a fight over the issue again on Sunday evening and their spat turned ugly. In a fit of rage, Laka picked up a wooden plank and attacked Chaitu, leaving him dead on the spot.

On being informed, a team of police officials rushed to the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. A forensic team also joined the investigation, while police held Laka for questioning.  Further investigation into the matter is on, police said.
