Bhubaneswar: Unidentified armed miscreants allegedly robbed a man and torched his car near Pandua Sahi village under Balipatna police limits, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, on Saturday night.
According to sources, the incident took when place when one Ajit Kumar Swain of the locality was returning home in his new car. He was intercepted by two miscreants who then snatched away his mobile phone and purse at gunpoint. They then sprayed some chemicals on his face, leaving him unconscious, and dumped him at a farmland near the canal. Before fleeing, the duo set the car on fire.
The victim was found in an unconscious state by locals this morning. Swain has lodged a complaint with the Balipatna police in this connection with the incident.
