Man Throws Acid On Daughter, Mother-In Law In Jagatsinghpur

Tirtol: A man allegedly threw acid on his mother-in law and 14-month-old daughter at Bhaliapatna village under Tirtol police limits in Jagatsinghpur district late on Friday.
The victims suffered critical burn injuries and were rushed to Manijanga community health centre for treatment. They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.
According to information, the accused, Manas Ranjan Swain of Puri district, had gone to Bhaliapatna to bring back his wife, who was staying with her mother Santilata Samal and daughter following a dispute with him.
The accused fled the spot immediately after committing the crime.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
