Maoist Camp Busted In Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Security personnel busted a Maoist camp following a gun battle inside a forest in Bonda Ghat area in Malkangiri district on Monday.

Malkalgiri SP Rishikesh Dnyandeo Khilari said police had received a tip-off about the movement of Maoists near Mudulipada in the Bondapada-Sambalpur forest area. Following this, a joint team of District Voluntary Force (DVF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) launched a combing operation in the morning.

During the search operation, the Maoists fired at the security forces, who retaliated likewise. Later, the Maoists managed to escape in the dense forest.

The security personnel later began another round of search operation and seized uniforms, kit bags, mobile phone and other articles from the camp inside the forest.

The SP added that combing operation has been intensified in the forest.
